Here in the UK, we seem to have had summer early this year. The weather in April and May was wonderful, but now we are in the actual summer month of July, the weather has taken a downturn. Still, it’s a good time to take stock and check that the skin care products we are using are still working for us and doing the best job in keeping our skin soft and protected. Let’s take a look at some summer skin care products.
Let’s get back to basics. We need to start wth clean skin. What are your favourite shower and bath items? Do you prefer a bath bomb or a shower gel? Me, I like shower gel that can double up as bubble bath, you know, one that will produce a froth of silky bubbles if you pour it into the bath under a running tap.

Personally, I love anything coconut scented – that’s definitely my favourite cosmetic fragrance. Palmolive Naturals Coconut Shower Gel really fits the bill on all counts. For a start, Palmolive is a trusted brand – one I have been using since childhood. It’s currently less than a pound for 250ml and feels so refreshing and luxuriant. Leaves the skin feeling really clean and smelling amazing. This is a must-have for me, it’s suitable for all skin-types too, so why not give it a try? A luxury treat at a bargain price, rich and creamy with a lovely tropical scent for those holidays at home.

Let’s not forget the importance of sunscreen for our skin. Even on cloudy days it’s super important to use products with a suitable SPF number, as the harmful UVA & UVB rays can still break through the clouds and cause lasting damage to unprotected skin.
My go-to product for this is made by The Body Shop and helpfully it fits in my handbag or even a pocket – we all love a pocket, am I right? Skin Defence is a multi-protection face mist with an SPF of 30 which is ideal for me. A quick spray keeps my face protected when I am out an about.

And if we are talking about head to toe skin care, what better than a cooling Peppermint Foot Spray? This one, also from The Body Shop is best left at home for after a long day on your feet, but it is refreshing and reviving and highly recommended.

What are your favourite summer skin care products? Do you have fond memories of toiletries from your childhood, such as Palmolive? Do you love coconut scented stuff as much as I do?
Drop into the comments and let me know!
Stay safe and cool this summer.
