Include each other

Whether it’s choosing DIY wedding invitations from Pure Invitation or the venue, including each other on the decisions that you are making is one of the quickest ways is to ensure that your relationship stays healthy when planning a wedding. Making sure that everybody knows what’s going on, and that you aren’t making decisions on your own is going to help no end. Not only that but it shows that you care about the other person’s opinion and there’s nothing quite like that when it comes to being in a relationship; so make sure that before you make that decision that you’re about to make, that you are 100% certain that your partner is onboard with the situation. Not only does this make sure that you are listening to each other, but it also means that you are caring about their opinion. Of course, the foundations of your relationship will be tested by organizing such a huge event as a wedding. But doing everything you can to listen to each other and enjoy the process is going to significantly reduce the chances of a problem.

Visit together

When it comes to checking out venues, and looking for items to include in your wedding, you should consider doing this together and making the decisions as a team. Of course decisions such as buying a dress are going to be decided with other family members, but where possible making trips together and buying items to go with your special day together is one way to strengthen your relationship and bond over the whole process. So just consider when you look at venues and different options that you have, that it is a special day for both of you, so you should both be involved.

Listen

If your partner has an opinion that differs to yours, try not to treat it as a cause for an argument, but more a cause for discussion and compromise. There will be many times throughout your marriage that this will happen, so it’s a good starting point to practice listening to each other and discovering what can be done to ensure you’re both happy with the decisions. Making sure that you are really listening to each other during this time is essential.

Having fun whilst arranging your wedding should really be number one on your list of priorities, if you don’t have fun it will start your marriage on the wrong foot. It is a special day for you to enjoy together and something that you can’t do twice, so enjoy it and ensure you aren’t stressed throughout the whole process.
