AD – I was wondering how the lockdown was going down – in more ways than one. If you’re single and looking, or loved up and locked down – here’s the lowdown on our lockdown love lives.

 

Looking For Love

If you were single and looking for a new partner before the lockdown came into force, then the global pandemic has to have cramped your style somewhat. Nobody is going out on dates currently, that’s for sure! You could use this time to lay the groundwork though – time spent in reconnaissance is seldom time wasted. Dating apps and websites are there to be used and some of the sites are even local ones, such as Surrey Dating, so you can meet someone nearby rather than falling for someone who turns out to live hundreds of miles away in Glasgow, for example. Who knows, maybe prolonged conversation is an ideal way to get to know one another? Doesn’t have to stop at online chat either. There’s also the option of talking on the telephone or better yet, video call.  No chance of being catfished if y’all are facetiming one another. Lockdown Lust

Of course not everyone is looking for a relationship and that’s absolutely fine. Ain’t no judgement here. If you are looking to meet someone casually (once the lockdown is lifted, you stay firmly at home until then!) there are lots of websites to aid your search. Again, many of them are regional to enable you to find partners in your locale. Just be sure to follow the usual safety precautions when you are meeting someone new for the first time.

 

 Loved Up and Living Together

Maybe you are already married or in a full time live in relationship, so you aren’t actually isolated in isolation. Maybe for some this is a dream come true. Locked in with their lover 24/7. For some it could be a nightmare, or anything inbetween. Wherever you are on the relationship spectrum, this is certainly a period of adjustment for everyone. Make time and space for each other. If you are both usually out of the house at work, so you only get to spend evenings and weekends with one another, 24 hour togetherness could become a bit grating. The little habits that you can normally overlook can suddenly become massive annoyances.

Perhaps this is a good opportunityy to go back to basics and rekindle that honeymoon period from when you first got together. How about a garden picnic or a home movie night? Get creative!
